All You Could Learn About Mold in a Single Day Course

LEW Corporation now offers a class titled: All You Could Learn About Mold in a Single Day. Students will learn what mold is; how mold is grown and how to identify mold growth. This course will emphasize health risks & effects including signs and symptoms of mold exposure. The class will cover national standards of practice for conducting residential and commercial mold inspection and remediation. All You Could Learn About Mold in a Single Day course is approved by the New Jersey Real Estate Commission which allows students to obtain 3 CE Credits. NY State Mold Abatement Worker Course

This course is the NY State Mold Abatement Worker course regulated by New York State Department of Labor, Articles 32. This 2 day (16 hours) course will cover subjects including the below:

  • Introduction of Course of mold including Observation and determination of mold growth.
  • Mold Regulation, Technical & Legal
  • Potential Health Effect
  • Hazard Communication
  • Indoor Air Pollution an Sick Building

There is an allocated time assigned for interactive (hands-on) participation from the students. The hands-on participation includes:

  • Work Place Hazards
  • How to minimizing Exposure
  • Removing mold
  • Cleaning mold
  • Treating mold
  • State of the art technology of address mold

NY DOL Regulations

Mold Project (abatement) is defined as the act of removal, cleaning, sanitizing, or surface disinfection of mold, mold containment, and waste handling of mold and materials used to remove mold from surfaces by an individual. This license is for any individual engaging in mold projects that involves abatement of an area of greater than ten (10) square feet is required to hold a mold abatement worker license. As per Articles 32, it is unlawful for any person to engage, advertise or hold themselves out as remediation contractor, or abatement worker unless they have a valid mold license, issued by the Commissioner, for the type of work they will be performing. Individuals who do so may be subject to a civil penalty.

LICENSING REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Attend a DOL approved Mold Remediation Worker course
  2. Pass the course.  Full attendance is required.
  3. The Training Provider for the course will issue a “certificate of completion” to the Licensee. Note: Students are required to have the day of class a NY state motor vehicle license or obtain specialized DMV ID number from NY State DMV. Without the appropriate ID number, the student’s certificate will not be released.
  4. Licensee will then submit the application form, appropriate fee and a copy of the “certificate of completion” to DOL.
  5. DOL will issue the Mold Remediation Worker license, which is valid for two years.

Course are scheduled upon demand of ten (10) students or more. If interested in attending the Dust Wipe Sampling Technician (DST) Initial – English, please provided your name, telephone number and email address.  Your name will be added to our list of possible attendees. Once we have the necessary headcount to schedule a class, someone will be in touch regarding the scheduled date. Please note, classes will be held at 1090 Bristol Road Mountainside, NJ 07092. If you have more than ten (10) people in your group we would be more than glad to offer a private class.  Please complete our online form and someone from our training department will contact you within 24 hours.

Training Cancellation Policies

LEW Corporation appreciates the opportunity and is looking forward to having you join us for a training course. Please register early to avoid disappointment. Registration is not confirmed until paid in full and confirmation is received.

We understand that cancellations or schedule changes are sometimes inevitable for a student. As well, it is our intent to avoid cancellation or rescheduling of any training events. Unfortunately circumstances occasionally require canceling or rescheduling of a class from either the student or LEW Corporation. The following policies are necessary to insure continuation for our mutual interest for the next time you join us.

Cancellation/Reschedule by Student

  • Cancellation and/or reschedule requests must be received in writing by email to training@lewcorp.com. You are responsible for ensuring that LEW Corporation receives your written request. LEW Corporation will reply with a written acknowledgement within 24 hours of request (weekends and holidays excluded).
  • Cancellation and/or reschedule must be requested received more than 14 calendar days prior to the course date will result in a full refund or a credit toward attendance at a future scheduled course taking place within 12 months of the original course. If you do not attend a course within 12 months from the original course date, the entire course fee will be forfeited.
  • Rescheduling is allowed on a one time basis using the notification method listed above, with no further rescheduling permitted.
  • Cancellations made 14 or less calendar days prior to the course date, or failure to appear for the course, will result in forfeiture of the course fee.
  • Registrant substitutions may be made up and until 2 days prior to the scheduled class. LEW Corporation must receive an email providing the registrant’s name and the name of their replacement; the class title and day and time of class. Email should be sent to training@lewcorp.com

Cancellation/Reschedule by LEW Corporation

  • LEW Corporation reserves the right to cancel or reschedule courses at any time. If LEW Corporation cancels or reschedules the seminar due to low registration, weather or unforeseen circumstances beyond the control of LEW Corporation, you are entitled to a full refund or rescheduling
  • LEW Corporation is not responsible for travel arrangements, travel fees, or any expenses incurred by you as a resulting in cancellation or postponement.
  • If LEW Corporation cancels a course in which you are enrolled, you will be contacted as soon as possible at the email address you provided when registering, so please be sure to provide a valid email address.
  • Refund Policy
  • Except for the cancellation policy described above, all payments and fees are nonrefundable. It is expected that students will assess the appropriateness of a training event by reviewing the course descriptions and schedules in advance of purchase or registration.
  • “No Show” are subjected to forfeit of all moneys paid and no house credit.
